Primrose

The Primrose is a café in Derry with a somewhat French - or at least continental European - ambiance. It sits along a pedestrian footpath on the river, across from the Foyle Marina, and there is outdoor seating. The striped awnings, wrought iron details, gilded lettering, wicker-backed chairs, and garlands of artificial flowers, complete the look. The food is actually fantastic, and the location is perfect for watching people stroll along the river. For anyone visiting Derry, this is a good destination to aim for.

I am still out of the habit of taking documentary style street photos. But the opportunities for that here are great, with the refections in the large window-fronts offering an extra layer of interest.

The city was very quiet on New Year, with only a few cafés open over the weekend. This worked well as we are both somewhat worse for wear after all the holiday hosting and chaos. These quiet photo walks are a good way to recharge.
