Calivert
Join me in celebrating Northern Summers and the Nutiden August Collection with this Höner och Eir-inspired pattern.
A simple vertically-striped top at first glance, Calivert is brimming with hidden nuance. Knitted in the round, it is then flipped on its side, steeked at the neckline and hem, and finished with ribbed edgings. In addition to creating vertical stripes, this unusual process allows the knitter a finer degree of control over sizing, neckline depth, sleeve width, and shoulder shaping than traditional construction methods. A fun way to combine your favourite colours, or to use up small amounts of leftover yarns, Calivert (an anagram of ‘vertical’) offers a fresh perspective on sideways construction.
