Anna’s Basics

Saglan Pullover
{Drops Puna}

If you have followed my work over the past 3 years, you are no doubt familiar by sight with Anna - who has been modelling for me since then. But while my pattern photos are often quite exuberant, Anna’s own style is considerably more sparse and minimalist.

Luckily, Anna is a skilled knitter. And she routinely does me the honour of choosing my patterns to knit herself up some basics.

And so I wanted to show you Anna’s take on three of my basic garment patterns.

Seaside Disco Top
{Drops Alpaca +Kidsilk Mohair}

From left to right: the Saglan Pullover, the Seaside Disco Top, and the Dropp Pullover - all knitted by Anna over the past couple of years.

As far as wearability, she wears the Saglan the most - and in fact has made many of them in different colours. The grey one shown is the one she probably wears the most… because it is grey!

The black Seaside Disco is the most recent addition to Anna’s wardrobe, and has immediately been put to use as a dressy going out jumper in the cold weather.

Dropp Pullover
{mystery stash yarn}

The Dropp Pullover is the oldest of these knits, and the least worn… because it has proven a bit too vibrant (!) for Anna’s preferred colour palette. Luckily, she has someone to trade handknits with, and I now happily own and wear this beautiful jumper.

In the 2.5 years she has been knitting garments, Anna’s collection has become quite impressive and this is only a tiny glimpse of it. I am pleased and grateful beyond words that she repeatedly opts to knit my patterns, and adapt them to her own style so beautifully.
