Yellow Roses/ Yellow Thread

I am not a huge fan of yellow, and would never think to pair it with olive. But as I went to throw these roses away I saw them in my hand against the backdrop of my boots and loved the colour combination.

The thread on the boots is actually quite dingy and not nearly so bright in real life, but the roses make it appear brighter and more saturated. The olive leather, on the other hand, looks darker than in real life. How this all works is still a mystery to me.
