Toasters and Turbans

Leica CL + Summicron-C 40mm f2

The light was interesting in the Kitchen Studio today. It wasn’t sunny exactly, but a strange state of almost-sunniness. It nearly looks as if I used flash.

I took some quick photos of drop shoulder sweaters to see how the colours would look in this setting. I also auditioned my toaster for an upcoming wheaten-themed photoshoot.

The colour of the mauve drop shoulder sweater stubbornly resists accurate depiction. It looks insistently beige here, although all the other colours are accurate.

I still have not ironed the backdrop sheets! Sheets plural, because there are actually 3 of these in slightly different shades of grey. The one I used today is a cool, almost purpley grey. I was hoping this would bring out the cool tones of the mauve sweater, but it alas it did not.

A very noisy shot of Anna trying on the turban in front of the mirror. I thought that maybe the fabric would be too shiny to work with knitwear, but it is fine. However, using ISO 1600 is not!
