Portstewart Harbour

Leica CL + Elmarit 18mm f2.8

It gets dark around 4pm at the moment, and these photos have a sunsety look to them even though it is only 2:30pm.

Most photos shot at f8.

This small harbour is just across the street from the Promenade, which is the centre of Portstewart, lined with shops and restaurants. I always find it a strange juxtaposition how empty the harbour is, compared to how crowded the other side of the road.

Standing here and looking at the water suggests a serenity that is in fact completely lacking, as immediately behind me there is an endless procession of slow-moving traffic and pedestrians, with all the accompanying hustle and bustle.

Some very large seaweed scattered along the cliff walk. This is a different variety from the seaweed in our neck of the woods; aside from being huge and palm tree-like, it is very strongly scented.

I do not connect with this part of Ireland, compared to the more northwesterly area where we live, but it does make for nice photos.
