Mittens Macro
I am beginning to realise that the Zeiss 24mm Macro is now indispensable to my work. I tried to take some stills using our M-mount lenses, only to remember it was impossible to get sufficiently close to the objects for the composition I needed.
Then I remembered, I had a macro lens. I had tried to use the Zeiss Jena for macro before, but on my former DSLR setup it was too wide for my purpose. Now the same 24mm lens is the equivalent of a 35mm, which makes it just right.
And happily, the vintage Zeiss does not disappoint. The photos are sharp, yet have a dreamy quality to them. The lens is larger than I would like and makes the camera quite front-heavy. But as I mostly expect to use it in this specific context I do not mind the size.
