Grey Birch, Possibly

Leica CL + Leica Elmar-C 90mm f4

I think this might be a young grey birch, or some other type of birch-related tree. For someone who loves trees, I am annoyingly ignorant about them.

Both of the above shots were taken at f4 - which of course looks fairly shallow on a 90mm lens. I don’t really find myself wishing for a wider aperture.

This last shot was taken at f8, and still looks rather atmospheric. I love this tree and could have photographed it all day. Alas, it was absolutely freezing! Which made its flourishing garlands seem all the more mystical in an otherwise bare patch of woods.
